Shah's Secret Car Collection

Cars belonging to Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.

Car: 1974 Panther Lazer

Story: Sold to the Shah when he was only 14 years old. This car is so rare that it is the one and only ever built.

Car: 1974 Lamborghini Countach

Car: 1964 Ferrari 500 Superfast

Story: S/N 6605 SF. L.H.D. Entered Pininfarina October 26, 1964, job number 99602, completed August 8 1965. Grigio argento Italver 25090A paint with blue 3015 leather. Sold new to the Shah of Iran. Very few of these cars were made, no more than double digits.

Car: 1954 through 1963 Mercedes-Benz 190SL.

Car: 1959 through 1968 Rolls-Royce Phantom V

Story: Only 516 of these very rare cars were ever made, including one for John Lennon.

Car: 1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V

Story: This is one of the longest American cars ever made.

Supercar Made in Iran

Car: Iran Khodro Sahel Concept (Prototype)

Story: On display at the 5th Annual Tehran Auto Fair and one picture apparently on the road (06/20/2004). This car is made in Iran by an auto company named "Iran Khodro." Thanks partly to Farzad for photos.

Super Bike Motorcycle

Motorcycle: Yamaha YZF-R1

Story: This bike is one of the most expensive sports bikes, behind Ducati and Honda. The public can only ride bikes under 250cc unless they have a special licence granted by the government. High powered bikes are generally ridden by the Basij.

Story: This is a V8, has SLR wing doors and customized exhaust. Notice that the FAB DESIGN is custom ordered from Switzerland, very rare. A big thanks to Sasha Javaheri for the photos.





Car 1 & 2: 2007 Chevrolet Corevette C6 Coupe
Date: July 7, 2007
City: Tehran (in front of "Kooh-e-Noor" building)
Story: Two Corvettes were racing and stopped at the intersection. Their price is about $80,000 US Dollars in Iran. These are American cars and are much harder to obtain in Iran and considered very rare. A big thanks to Sasha Javaheri for the photos.
